Ravanhastha

1). Ravanhasta or ravanhatta originated among the Hela civilization of Sri Lanka at the time of King Ravana. The bowl is made of a cut coconut shell that is covered with goat hide. A Dandi, made of bamboo, is attached to this shell. There are two principle strings: one of steel and the other of a set of HORSE HAIRS. The long bow has jingle bells. From India, the ravanahatta traveled westwards to the Middle East and Europe, where in the 9th century, it came to be called the Ravan string. It is called Ravanhatta in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan, Tamil nadu etc and other parts of India . Ravanhastha is considered the FIRST VIOLIN in history. This instrument was played in royal courts and was considered part of the "high culture".

Our daily lives can be compared to acting in a play. We have become so absorbed with our temporary roles in this play that we have completely forgotten our true offstage identities. Someone is taking the part of our parent, another person is acting as our lover, another as our friend or foe, but actually it is all simply a performance; our real identities are something else. Our very bodies are nothing more than costumes, but out of illusion we identify ourselves with them and try to relate to others on the basis of these costumes. The resulting relationships are not false; they are real, but they are temporary and therefore illusory. Under the influence of illusion, however, we falsely identify ourselves with our bodies and think we belong to a certain family, nation, race, religion, political party, and so on. The goal of human life is to awaken from this illusion and become reinstated in our real identities as fully conscious spiritual beings. When the curtain falls on our play—when death comes—all the different relationships we have cultivated during our lives will be finished, and our real self, an individually conscious spirit soul, will be transferred to a new situation. (Sirakanda hainei: ''eikhoi loina thadoktuna chatpikhre'', masi thawai-na hakchang thadok-khibagini, thawai-ga hakchang-ga tongal-le haibani, khudam oina ""Rajiv Gandhi-gi masa poloikhre"'). Atopa lamda siba oirabadi sumna hainei: "Nirbhaya gi hakchang flight-ta puraklani."
So, I am spirit, we are all spirit soul inside the body (Ei hairibasi thawai-sibuni hakchang-sibu natte). The corollary is that "I am not matter," and the meaning of that is, "I am not this body." We have a gross body made of earth and water and air and so on, and we have a subtle body, which we experience as mind – thinking, feeling and willing – this is the subtle body. But beyond this is the soul. I am not the gross body nor am I my mind.
In the Bhagavad-gita (13.34), Lord Krishna says, “As the sun, situated in one place, illuminates the entire universe, so a small particle of spirit [the soul situated within the heart] illuminates the entire body with consciousness.” Just as sunshine proves the sun is present in the sky, consciousness proves the soul is present in the body. When the soul leaves the body, consciousness disappears and the body dies. Thus consciousness is the symptom of the soul’s presence in the body.
The material scientists misconceive the soul, a particle of anti-matter, to be only another variety of material energy. But real anti-matter must be anti-material, or spiritual. If matter is subject to annihilation, then anti-matter must be indestructible. Bhagavad-gita (2.18, 16, 20) Lord Krsna says, “An immeasurable particle of anti-material energy is engaged within the material body (which includes the mind and intelligence). The material body is destructible, and as such it is changeable and temporary, as is the material world. But the anti-material force is indestructible and therefore permanent.'' If we persist in trying to find pleasure in this material world, only repeated frustration and suffering await us.

The only business of the soul is always to do tender and loving services for the Almighty or the Supreme Super Soul.

NUMIT KAPPA OF MANIPUR & MALAYSIA (SABAH FOLKLORE)

NUMIT KAPPA OF MANIPUR & MALAYSIA (SABAH FOLKLORE)
(This folklore show that some people from Malaysia might had migrated to Manipur).

Numit kappa (Manipur)

In Numit Kappa, we find an account of how a great archer, Kwai Nungjeng Piba had killed one of the two SUNs which had been shinning in the sky all throughout the day and night. Practically there was no darkness. But it was essential. So it was imperative that one sun should be shot down. Besides, it also gives us an idea of how the art of archery had been practised in ancient Manipur and India and its importance in war.
Perhaps that may be the reason why a number of Hindu gods and goddesses had been adorned with bow and arrow. The killing of one of the Sun gods, Taothuireng by the great archer Khwai Nungjeng Piba has been symbolically presented in the text. Allegorically, this book has also presented a truthful account of the society in the medieval period. Naothingkong Phambal Kaba deals with the coronation of King Naothingkhong in 763AD.

Numit kappa (Malaysia)

There was once a young couple who were very much in love. During their early married life, they spent all their time talking about having a prosperous family.
In time, the wife became pregnant and gave birth to their first child. One morning, she had to go out to dry some padi from the barn. It was a good distance from their house. Before she set forth, she left word for her husband that she would not be back until midday for she also had some cleaning to do. When she reached the barn, the suns were already high and were very hot. In those days, there were two suns. They would rise at the same time and emit the same amount of heat. It is said that the amount of heat we get today is equal to that emitted by the two suns then.
While the woman was spreading padi on the mat, the two suns became terribly hot. They were so hot that she had a stroke. The suns became still hotter. As she was lying on the ground, her stomach suddenly burst. Blood splashed all over her body and she died. Since the barn was quite far from her house, this terrible witnessed by anyone.
Meanwhile, back home, her dear husband was wondering what could have happened to his beloved wife for it was past noon already but there was still no sign of her. He began to feel worried so he set out to look for her. As he approached the barn, he was surprised to see the door wide open. But there was no one in sight. He came closer and then he saw the horrible sight. There, in front of him was his wife’s dead body. He was so overcome with shock that for a moment he could not think or move. Then pulling himself together, he took her in his arms and cried aloud. He slowly carried her back to the house.
That night, he tried to think what had possibly caused the death of his wife. It must be the two suns, he thought. If so, then he must confront them. In the morning, he took his best blowpipe and some darts, and set forth to find the suns. He walked for hours before he came to a spot where he could wait for the suns to rise. He waited anxiously. When the suns’ ray were just glimmering over the horizon, he took his best dart, and taking a careful aim, blew it towards one of them. To his relief, it struck one of the sun’s eyes. At that very moment, there was a sudden change in temperature. The earth became cooler. He uttered a loud cry in Kadazan, saying, Nah, nokohusi zou noh diozu do baino om purimono noh! (I have had my revenge and now feel it!). Relieved by the success of his vengeance, he decided to go home.
Since then, the sun which was partially blind only shows up at night as our silvery moon. The other appears during the day and that is our lovely sun.
When the villagers were told about what happened, they were very happy. They thanked the young man for making this world a more comfortable place in which to live. (courtesy: sabah folklore)

REASON OF TWO SUN BY SCIENTIST OR PHYSICIST.

Senior Lecturer of Physics at the University of Southern Queensland, outlined the scenario. Betelgeuse, one of the night sky’s brightest stars, is losing mass, indicating it is collapsing. It could run out of fuel and go super-nova at any time. When that happens, for at least a few weeks, we’d see a second sun, Carter says. There may also be no night during that timeframe. The Star Wars-esque scenario could happen by 2012, Carter says… or it could take longer. The explosion could also cause a neutron star or result in the formation of a black hole 1300 light years from Earth, reports news.com.au. But doomsday sayers should be careful about speculation on this one. If the star does go super-nova, Earth will be showered with harmless particles, according to Carter. “They will flood through the Earth and bizarrely enough, even though the supernova we see visually will light up the night sky, 99 per cent of the energy in the supernova is released in these particles that will come through our bodies and through the Earth with absolutely no harm whatsoever,” he told news.com.au.
